Fabulous experience
Stalactites, stalagmites, and a cavern known as Roku’s kitchen offer both geological and cultural intrigue. And then In pitch‑dark silence, thousands of Arachnocampa luminosa glow worms appear above like a mini Milky Way—an awe‑inspiring spectacle. Loved every minute!

Great authentic unique experience
Based on a marae these caves are amazing. The uniqueness is instead of lighting the cave you carry lanterns to light your way as you are told the history of the caves and surrounding area. Stops at vantage points where lanterns are switched off and glow worms observed. Included are up close views of cocoon and threads just cms from you.

Absolutely awesome
Don't miss this. The caves themselves are spectacular never mind the bonus of the glow worms. Loved the experience. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable.
