Launch the Big Kanu at Lake McLaren and paddle through the tranquil waters toward the head of the lake.
While paddling, look up at the canyon walls to discover hundreds of Glowworms lit up like stars. Our guides will teach you about the life cycle and peculiarities of the Glowworms. Our tour is designed to leave at the perfect hour to experience the full luminescent glow from the Glowworms.
This will be a tour you won’t forget!

This tour departs from Lake McLaren in the Lower Kaimai ranges- directions to the meeting point will be given upon booking. We do not provide transport to the meeting site for this tour.

Enjoyable and beautiful
Great activity for people at any level of physical ability. Paddle(if you want) through a beautiful lake to get to canyon where you wait for dark to see the glow worms. So beautiful! We also loved the ride back with all the nighttime sounds on the lake.

Night Time Glow
Nina and Alec were terrific! This is truly an amazing experience for all ages. Our tour guides confidently guided us across beautiful Lake McLaren at night to a canyon filled with glow worms. This has to be one of the most unusual experiences we had. Thank you, Nina and Alec.
